Steam loco parameters
Parameters specific to steam power are placed in a <Steam> ... </Steam> block in the model file. These control the performance of the loco and the way in which it generates steam and smoke. Steam locos create smoke using the texture $smoke.bmp, which should be in your main textures folder. Parameters Name Units Units (metric) NumCylinder Integer Integer The number of cylinders (usually 2, 3 or 4), which defines the number of power strokes per wheel revolution DriverDia dft cm Driving wheel diameter - defines the number of wheel revolutions per unit speed Chimney W/L/H (dft) W/L/H (cm) Position at which smoke is emitted by the chimney SafetyValve W/L/H (dft) W/L/H (cm) Position at which steam is released by safety valve Pressure psi Pa Boiler pressure - defines the maximum working force per unit piston area CylDia dft cm Cylinder bore (i.e. piston diameter) - defines the area on which steam acts CylStroke dft cm Cylinder stroke (i.e. the length of travel of the piston within the cylinder) - defines, together with the driving-wheel diameter, the fraction of the piston force acting at the wheel rim. MinCoff % % Smallest cut-off MaxCoff % % Largest cut-off BoilerVolume cu. ft cu. m Internal volume of the boiler excluding firebox and smokebox (if you don't have a figure for this, just measure the length between tubeplates and multiply by the cross-sectional area). Used to calculate the drop in boiler pressure at high rates of steam consumption. SuperHeat This is a coefficient representing the degree of superheat. It is 1.0 (default) for unsuperheated boilers, and typically about 1.2 to 1.3 if a superheater is fitted. GrateArea sq. ft sq. m The area of the firegrate determines the amount of coal that can be burnt at once and thus the rate at which heat can be introduced into the system. PS. Si ringrazia il buon Luciano per le risate fatte stasera a cercar di capire come far funzionare questa locomotivetta. Grande Skype[/b][/size=3][/green] |
